Adyen announced on Monday, November 2, 2026, that Japanese eyewear retailer JINS HOLDINGS selected its platform for omnichannel payments. The announcement from Adyen says the rollout will cover 150 retail locations in Japan starting in November, after an initial launch at the Kichijoji flagship store in late September.

JINS modernizes in-store checkout

The project brings JINS's online and in-store transactions onto Adyen's single platform. The consolidated payment view is intended to improve operational efficiency, generate deeper shopper insights and support more consistent customer journeys across retail channels.

Adyen's mobile payment solution, paired with Tap to Pay on iPhone, will allow JINS employees to complete consultations, product selection and payment on the sales floor. Customers will no longer need to move to a central register after selecting frames and completing an eye examination.

For Adyen, the deployment adds another enterprise retail implementation in Japan. JINS operates approximately 500 stores in Japan and has an expanding international footprint, according to the company announcement. A common payments architecture could make it easier for the retailer to enter markets where Adyen supports the required payment services, although the announcement gives no financial contribution from the partnership.
