Amplifon stock slips after GN Hearing's weak quarter

Amplifon stock fell 4.34% to EUR 11.68 on August 20, 2026, after GN Hearing's second-quarter revenue dropped 5% to EUR 273 million and adjusted EBITDA margin slipped to 18.1%. The hearing-aid group's shares also traded below the prior session's close of EUR 12.215, while the Ftse Mib was up 0.12%.
GN Hearing's weaker quarter
Amplifon is being judged against the performance of GN Store Nord's hearing division, which posted 2% organic revenue decline in Q2 2026 versus 8% organic growth in the same quarter of 2025. The reported top line fell to DKK 1.772 billion, and adjusted EBITDA came in at DKK 321 million.
That contrast matters because the same division had delivered DKK 3.527 billion of first-half 2026 revenue, with adjusted EBITDA of DKK 621 million and a 17.6% margin. The gap between the quarter and the half-year points to a mixed operating picture rather than a simple one-off result.
Deal math still matters
Analysts quoted in the report still see value in the acquisition, citing annual synergies of EUR 70 million to EUR 80 million and saying about 85% of those savings should come from internalizing hearing-aid volumes. The same note says Amplifon could lift the share of GN devices in its sales from about 40% to close to 90% over time.
For investors, that makes the integration story more important than one quarter alone. GN Store Nord also said it would receive EUR 1.69 billion in cash and 56 million Amplifon shares at closing, which frames the balance-sheet and dilution angle of the transaction.
Competition and product pipeline
GN Hearing also introduced ReSound Sensia and Beltone Illuminate, new hearing-aid families built on an AI platform aimed at better speech understanding in noisy environments. That launch gives the division another commercial test as Amplifon prepares for a broader integration phase.
The strategic takeaway is simple: the market is watching whether that product momentum and the promised synergy run-rate can offset a quarter that showed weaker reported sales and a softer margin profile. Citi kept a buy view on Amplifon with a target price of EUR 16.50, according to the report.
Amplifon shares now
