- Amrize updated its 2026 revenue and adjusted EBITDA outlook after weather and inflation weighed on construction activity.
- Building Materials gained from pricing and acquisitions, while Building Envelope profitability weakened under freight and raw-material costs.
- Management expects commercial roofing to remain resilient but residential roofing demand to stay softer.
Amrize updated its full-year 2026 outlook after weather patterns, elevated interest rates and cost inflation weighed on construction markets, while pricing and acquisitions supported third-quarter revenue. The company reported the results on October 28, according to Morningstar, carrying Business Wire's release.
Amrize reported third-quarter revenue of USD 3.771 billion, up 2.2 percent from the year-earlier period. Net income rose 3.3 percent to USD 558 million, while adjusted EBITDA increased 0.2 percent to USD 1.076 billion. Adjusted EBITDA margin narrowed to 28.5 percent from 29.1 percent as higher freight, diesel and raw-material costs offset pricing, surcharges and acquisition contributions.
Pricing Offsets Volume Pressure
Price increases contributed USD 78 million to quarterly revenue, acquisitions added USD 77 million and energy, fuel and freight surcharges contributed USD 23 million. Those gains were partly offset by lower volumes and foreign-exchange effects. Weather reduced cement volumes by 4.2 percent and aggregates volumes by 0.2 percent in the quarter, with pressure concentrated in the Northeast, South and Central regions.
Building Materials remained the stronger operating area. Revenue increased 1.8 percent to USD 2.842 billion and segment adjusted EBITDA rose 2.7 percent to USD 938 million. Cement pricing increased 1.8 percent on a constant-currency basis, while aggregates pricing advanced 6.9 percent. Amrize expects the segment to achieve positive price-cost performance in the fourth quarter.
Roofing Costs Weigh On Margins
Building Envelope revenue grew 3.6 percent to USD 929 million, supported by commercial roofing demand and pricing. Segment adjusted EBITDA fell 14.6 percent to USD 182 million, however, as freight and raw-material costs outweighed the benefit from improved volumes, pricing and surcharges. Shingle volumes were affected by a lack of significant storms and sluggish existing-home sales.
Management expects commercial roofing volumes to remain resilient, while residential roofing is expected to remain softer. Price increases and surcharges are expected to improve the segment's price-cost spread sequentially in the fourth quarter, but Amrize now expects price-cost positivity in Building Envelope in 2027 because inflation has been greater than previously anticipated.
Updated Guidance And Capital Returns
Amrize now expects 2026 revenue of USD 12.2 billion to USD 12.4 billion and adjusted EBITDA of USD 2.95 billion to USD 3.05 billion. The outlook also reflects a USD 36 million insurance benefit recorded in the fourth quarter of 2025 that is not expected to recur. The ASPIRE program had generated USD 73 million of savings through the first nine months, with the company targeting USD 80 million for the full year.
Amrize completed its USD 1 billion share repurchase program on October 28, equivalent to approximately 4 percent of share capital. The board declared a third-quarter dividend of USD 0.11 per share, payable on November 18. The shares are scheduled to trade ex-dividend on November 10.
