ASML Holding is heading into the next phase of the semiconductor investment cycle with demand visibility extending into 2029 and 2030. The company said customers are considering longer-dated equipment orders as artificial intelligence investment continues to shape capacity plans across the chip industry.

According to Ground News, ASML expects fourth-quarter 2026 sales of 14.2 billion euros to 15.2 billion euros. The company has raised the lower end of its full-year 2026 sales outlook to 44 billion euros, with the range extending to 45 billion euros and a gross margin of around 56 percent.

Long-Dated Orders Test Capacity Plans

Chief Executive Christophe Fouquet said customer interest in orders for 2029 and 2030 reflects expectations about the size and duration of AI-related investments. That improves the visibility of ASML's order pipeline, but it also raises the execution burden as the company expands production and coordinates a specialized supplier base.

ASML said planned supply for 2027 and 2028 will not fully meet customer demand. Management is therefore investigating ways to increase 2028 capacity beyond the previously communicated 30 percent expansion. The issue is strategically important: stronger demand supports utilization and pricing power, while a slower capacity ramp could limit how quickly order interest converts into revenue.

Strong Quarter Supports Outlook

ASML's third-quarter performance provides the financial backdrop for the updated view. Total sales reached 11.7 billion euros, net income was 5.0 billion euros and the gross margin was 57.5 percent. The company also said installed-base management sales reached 3.3 billion euros, supported by demand for productivity upgrades.

The combination of record quarterly sales, longer customer planning horizons and higher full-year guidance strengthens the growth case for ASML. At the same time, the outlook remains exposed to customer capital-spending decisions, supply-chain execution and the investment intensity of the AI buildout. These factors will determine whether the current order visibility translates into sustained shipment growth.
