AstraZeneca reported stronger third-quarter performance on Friday, October 30, as growth in oncology, respiratory and immunology, and rare diseases offset pressure from Farxiga and Brilinta. In its results announcement, the company said total revenue for the first nine months increased 7% at constant exchange rates.
AstraZeneca stock traded at 167.15 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 14:34 CET on Friday, October 30. That was 8.47% above the 154.10-euro quote in the previous own report published on Thursday, October 29. The move is separate from any Xetra daily comparison.
Quarterly growth supports 2026 outlook
Total revenue reached 16.209 billion dollars in the third quarter, up 7% at both actual and constant exchange rates. Core earnings per share rose 17% at actual exchange rates and 19% at constant exchange rates to 2.79 dollars, while reported earnings per share increased 23% to 2.02 dollars.
For the first nine months, revenue came to 46.881 billion dollars and core earnings per share reached 8.00 dollars. Oncology revenue rose 16% at constant exchange rates to 21.889 billion dollars, while Rare Disease revenue increased 11% to 7.544 billion dollars. BioPharmaceuticals declined 5%, reflecting pressure in cardiovascular, renal and metabolism medicines as well as infectious disease products.
Pipeline remains the next catalyst
AstraZeneca said it had secured approvals for four new medicines and recorded 12 positive Phase III readouts during the year. Management expects upcoming 2027 readouts to carry potential peak annual revenue of more than 20 billion dollars, keeping late-stage development central to the investment case.
The company reaffirmed its 2026 guidance for total revenue growth in the mid-to-high single-digit range and low double-digit growth in core earnings per share at constant exchange rates. The expected core tax rate remains between 18% and 22%.
For investors, the next scheduled results checkpoint is the fourth quarter and full-year 2026 release on February 9, 2027. The real-time quote of AstraZeneca stock is available separately.
