Azelis is preparing for a leadership handover in its Americas business, with Mike Finelli set to become regional CEO and join the Executive Committee on November 9. The appointment was announced on October 28, according to the company release carried by MarketScreener.
New leadership for the Americas
Finelli will succeed Todd Cottrell, who is leaving Azelis at the end of October after three years leading the Americas organization. Azelis said Cottrell helped implement strategic programs and guide the regional business through a period of transformation.
Finelli brings more than 30 years of international experience in the specialty chemicals industry. His previous roles included senior commercial, operational and strategic positions at Syensqo and Solvay, including leadership of Solvay's largest specialty business. Most recently, he combined the roles of chief technology officer and leader of several strategic growth initiatives at Syensqo.
Execution becomes the next test
Azelis Group CEO Anna Bertona described Finelli's strategic, commercial and innovation leadership as a strong fit for the next phase of the Americas business. Finelli said his first priority would be to work with the team to build on existing strengths and support continued growth.
The appointment does not change the group's financial outlook. It does, however, put regional execution at the center of the near-term investment case as Finelli takes over an established network of customer and principal relationships.
