- Bristol Myers Squibb is partnering with Pathos AI and Tempus AI on Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions.
- BMS will receive broad access to Pathos Foundry and three-year exclusive rights for neuroscience development programs.
- The collaboration combines longitudinal patient records, agentic AI and BMS drug-development expertise to support more targeted clinical trials.
Pathos AI announced on October 23, 2026, a strategic collaboration with Bristol Myers Squibb and Tempus AI to apply artificial intelligence to drug development in Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological conditions. The announcement also covers a Series E financing round led by BMS. Pathos AI said the collaboration is intended to combine patient information, AI capabilities and BMS neuroscience expertise.
Pathos expands BMS neuroscience reach
Tempus will build a de-identified longitudinal collection covering hundreds of thousands of patients with neurological conditions. Pathos will license access under a five-year agreement valued at USD 55 million and use its Foundry platform to study disease progression, generate and test biological hypotheses, and support the design of more targeted and adaptive clinical trials.
BMS will gain non-exclusive strategic access to Pathos Foundry across its broader research and development portfolio. In neuroscience, Bristol Myers Squibb secured three-year exclusive rights to support its development programs. The agreement therefore gives BMS a wider technology relationship while reserving a defined period of exclusivity in a therapeutic area where the company already has research and clinical-development capabilities.
Pathos also said BMS led its USD 237 million Series E financing, which valued the company at approximately USD 3 billion after the round. The financing is intended to expand Foundry and advance Pathos programs, including JSKN016, an experimental TROP2/HER3 bispecific antibody-drug conjugate. The capital activity adds a financial link to the research collaboration, but it does not establish a near-term revenue contribution for BMS.
AI adds potential, not clinical proof
For Bristol Myers Squibb, the strategic case rests on improving how neuroscience programs identify patients, assess disease progression and shape clinical trials. BMS executive Simon Davies said the company wants to apply advanced AI and data science across research and development to accelerate innovation and strengthen precision medicine. Those objectives could improve development decisions, although the announcement does not provide clinical efficacy data or a launch timetable for a resulting therapy.
