Capstone Copper reported record adjusted EBITDA for the eighth consecutive quarter on October 29, while lower mine output and higher operating costs tempered the quarter. The company said the results covered the three months ended September 30, 2026, in a Capstone Copper news release.

Record EBITDA Meets Operating Pressure

Revenue rose 19 percent year over year to 712.0 million US dollars, helped by stronger realized metal prices. Adjusted EBITDA increased to 358.3 million US dollars from 249.2 million US dollars a year earlier, while adjusted net income attributable to shareholders reached 93.8 million US dollars, or 0.12 US dollars per share.

Consolidated copper production fell to 45,218 tonnes from 55,280 tonnes. C1 cash costs increased to 2.95 US dollars per pound from 2.42 US dollars, reflecting lower production volumes and higher diesel and sulphuric acid costs. The comparison of reported net income is affected by a 209.5 million US dollar non-cash impairment reversal in the prior-year quarter.

Guidance Points to a Challenging Finish

Capstone expects full-year 2026 copper production at the low end of its 200,000-to-230,000-tonne guidance range. Consolidated C1 cash costs are expected at the high end of the 2.45-to-2.75 US dollar range, while capital expenditure guidance increased by 40 million US dollars to 830 million US dollars.

Pinto Valley production was disrupted by planned and unplanned maintenance. The primary crusher rebuild is expected to be completed on November 2. Capstone also said the Mantoverde Optimized project tie-ins were completed, with the company focused on ramping up throughput toward 45,000 ore tonnes per day in early 2027.

The company reported net debt of 564.0 million US dollars at September 30 and available liquidity of 1.089 billion US dollars. It expects the sale of the Cozamin mine to Luca Mining to close in the fourth quarter, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals. The final investment decision for Santo Domingo remains targeted for the first quarter of 2027.
