- Revenue increased 8 percent year over year to USD 4.59 billion in the third quarter.
- Operating EBITDA rose 12 percent to USD 990 million, while the margin widened to 21.6 percent.
- Operating free cash flow reached a quarterly record of USD 723 million.
Cemex reported a sharp increase in third-quarter profit on October 26, 2026, as higher prices, stronger cement volumes and the Project Cutting Edge efficiency program lifted operating performance. Industry publication CemNet reported that profit attributable to controlling shareholders rose 55 percent year over year to USD 407 million.
Revenue increased 8 percent to USD 4.59 billion from USD 4.25 billion a year earlier. Operating EBITDA advanced 12 percent to USD 990 million from USD 882 million, while the margin widened to 21.6 percent from 20.8 percent. EBIT grew 19 percent, and like-for-like revenue and operating EBITDA increased 5 percent and 9 percent, respectively.
Mexico drives operating improvement
Mexico was the strongest contributor to the quarter. Regional operating EBITDA climbed 30 percent to USD 480 million as cement demand and cost efficiencies improved. US revenue rose 5 percent, but regional operating EBITDA fell 4 percent to USD 259 million. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa, EBITDA increased 4 percent to USD 257 million as pricing and efficiency gains offset higher energy costs.
The figures point to operating leverage rather than sales growth alone. EBITDA expanded faster than revenue, and the margin improvement indicates that pricing and efficiency measures are reaching the income statement. At the same time, the regional split remains important for investors: Mexico provided momentum, while the US business still faced profitability pressure despite higher sales.
Cash generation strengthens balance sheet options
Operating free cash flow reached a third-quarter record of USD 723 million, up 34 percent from the prior-year period. For the first nine months, revenue rose 10 percent to USD 13.20 billion and operating EBITDA increased 22 percent to USD 2.80 billion. Nine-month operating free cash flow rose 194 percent to USD 1.4 billion.
Profit for the first nine months nevertheless fell 25 percent to USD 982 million from USD 1.32 billion. CemNet said Cemex plans to reinvest proceeds from its asset-pruning program in strategic opportunities. Completed and announced disposals exceeded USD 200 million, including Atlanta ready-mix and recycled-concrete assets and exclusive negotiations over assets in southeastern France.
The real-time quote of Cemex stock showed the security trading at 0.97 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:55 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Current market reports provide the broader backdrop for US-listed equities.
For Cemex, the next focus is whether the efficiency program can sustain margin gains while US profitability recovers and asset sales generate additional cash. The third-quarter figures improve the earnings profile, but the weaker nine-month net profit and uneven regional performance remain relevant risks for investors.
