JD Sports Fashion (ISIN GB00BM8Q5M07) received a higher Deutsche Bank target on October 28, 2026, from GBp 95 to GBp 105, while the bank retained its Hold rating, according to Proactive Investors. The revised target gives the retailer a concrete valuation reference, but the unchanged rating keeps the earnings outlook central to the debate.
North America supplies scale
JD's North American operation accounted for 38 percent of group organic sales in fiscal 2026 and had more than 2,500 stores across five complementary fascias. The company presented those figures during a two-day investor and analyst visit to Florida, described in its October 19, 2026 release by JD Sports Fashion.
The regional platform includes JD, Finish Line at Macy's, DTLR, Shoe Palace and Hibbett. Hibbett alone operated 965 stores across 36 states, giving the group a broad route into US communities while the JD fascia continued building its own brand presence.
What does expansion mean?
The investment case rests on infrastructure as much as store count. JD said it invested USD 362 million in new stores and its existing estate from fiscal 2023 through fiscal 2026, alongside USD 100 million in supply-chain capital spending and USD 42 million in digital and technology capital spending, according to the same company release.
The company also said its North American JD fascia had more than 450 stores. That combination of physical reach and technology spending provides the operating context for Deutsche Bank's constructive comments on sales and margins, even as its Hold rating signals that improved visibility is still required.
Dates for the board
Senior Independent Director Kath Smith will leave JD's board on January 19, 2027, after more than seven years with the group, according to the company's regulatory announcement. The change is separate from the target revision but adds a defined governance date for shareholders.
