DSM-Firmenich reported stronger-than-expected operating momentum in its third-quarter trading update on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. The Swiss-Dutch group said continuing operations delivered volume-led like-for-like sales growth, while management raised its full-year sales outlook and kept its margin and cash-conversion targets intact. The company release carried by GlobeNewswire was published at 7:00 CET.
DSM-Firmenich stock traded at 104.53 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:04 CET on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Investors were reacting to a report that showed 2.368 billion euros in third-quarter sales for continuing operations, up from 2.238 billion euros a year earlier. Like-for-like sales growth was 5 percent, with volume accounting for the increase while pricing was neutral.
Portfolio momentum broadens
Adjusted EBITDA rose to 482 million euros from 458 million euros in the prior-year quarter, an 8 percent increase on a like-for-like basis. The adjusted EBITDA margin reached 20.4 percent, compared with 20.5 percent a year earlier, despite an 80-basis-point foreign-exchange headwind. Management said cost savings, restructuring measures and further pricing actions were helping to offset cost inflation.
Perfumery & Beauty remained the strongest growth engine, with like-for-like sales up 8 percent to 1.015 billion euros. Fine Fragrances recorded high-single-digit growth, while Consumer Fragrances again delivered double-digit growth supported by innovation and reformulation. The segment's adjusted EBITDA rose 10 percent on a like-for-like basis, and its margin was 22.0 percent.
Taste, Texture & Health posted 3 percent like-for-like sales growth to 813 million euros. Europe, Asia and Latin America performed well, while North America remained soft. Health, Nutrition & Care also grew 5 percent on a like-for-like basis to 515 million euros, supported by Early Life Nutrition and demand for human milk oligosaccharides. Cautious North American consumer demand continued to weigh on Dietary Supplements and i-Health.
Higher full-year sales target
DSM-Firmenich raised its 2026 like-for-like sales-growth outlook to around 5 percent from the previous range of 2 to 4 percent. It maintained expectations for an adjusted EBITDA margin of around 20 percent and adjusted gross operating free cash flow conversion of 11 to 12 percent.
CEO Dimitri de Vreeze said business conditions remained supportive entering the fourth quarter, citing a healthy innovation pipeline, high win rates on customer briefs and continued sales growth. He also said the 2026-2028 action plan remained on track, with the group focused on margin expansion, cash discipline and progress toward its 2027-2028 targets.
The update also highlighted the completed share repurchase program. DSM-Firmenich bought back 7,169,147 shares at an average price of 75.32 euros for total consideration of 540 million euros. Shares acquired for capital reduction are expected to be cancelled by the end of the first quarter of 2027, which would reduce issued shares by approximately 2.6 percent.
For investors, the raised sales outlook improves the near-term growth profile, but foreign-exchange pressure and uneven regional demand remain relevant to margin development. The next scheduled company milestone is the publication of full-year 2026 results on February 18, 2027. The real-time quote of DSM-Firmenich stock remains available for ongoing market monitoring.
Swiss equities and the broader domestic market are covered in the SMI market overview.
