EBOS Group is moving from a major investment cycle toward growth initiatives and cost control, Chief Executive Adam Hall told the company's annual meeting on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. BusinessDesk reported that the group has about A$150 million available for acquisitions and continues to assess selective deals in healthcare and animal care.

Lower spending supports acquisitions

EBOS spent A$121 million on eight acquisitions during fiscal 2026, including Precision Surgical, AlphaXRT and K-Talyst. Hall said the bolt-on transactions completed over the past five years had generated an average 16 percent return on capital.

The group also completed a four-year, A$360 million programme to renew its distribution network. Capital expenditure is expected to fall from about A$145 million in fiscal 2026 to about A$100 million in fiscal 2027, leaving more room for acquisitions while keeping leverage within the company's target range.

Efficiency programme expands

Management identified support functions, procurement and supply chains as areas for savings. Finance and information technology functions are already being centralised and automated, while the upgraded distribution network is being assessed for broader use across divisions.

EBOS expects benefits to begin emerging by the end of fiscal 2027 and increase from 2028. The company plans to provide more detail when it reports its half-year results in February.

Contract transition continues

EBOS has extended its New Zealand Chemist Warehouse wholesaling contract. The arrangement will wind down progressively through the end of fiscal 2028, and the company has already exited three sites. A further consolidation will transfer Dunedin operations to Christchurch.

At the annual meeting, Chairwoman Liz Coutts said the board regularly reviews the growth prospects, investment needs and strategic fit of every business area. She also said the company had not received a takeover approach.
