Eli Lilly and Company raised its full-year 2026 revenue outlook after a strong third quarter, but acquisition-related research charges reduced its adjusted earnings range. The company announced the update on Thursday, October 29, in a company release.

Eli Lilly stock traded at 1,269.80 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:35 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 1.13 percent above the Xetra close of Monday, November 2. The quote was 1.15 percent above the 1,255.40-euro Lang & Schwarz price in the most recent relevant report published on November 2.

Sales momentum meets earnings pressure

Third-quarter revenue rose 39 percent year over year to 24.4 billion US dollars. Lilly said growth was driven primarily by Mounjaro and Zepbound, while worldwide volume increased 53 percent and realized prices declined 15 percent.

Mounjaro revenue increased 65 percent to 10.7 billion US dollars, while Zepbound revenue rose 49 percent to 5.3 billion US dollars. The company also cited launches of Foundayo, broader US obesity-care coverage and growth in oncology, immunology and neuroscience.

Lilly lifted its 2026 revenue range to 91 billion to 92 billion US dollars from 85 billion to 87 billion US dollars. At the same time, the adjusted earnings-per-share range moved to 35.00 to 36.00 US dollars from 35.50 to 36.50 US dollars.

Deal charges reshape the guidance

Underlying non-GAAP EPS guidance improved by 4.07 US dollars at the midpoint, according to Lilly. Acquired in-process research and development charges of 4.57 US dollars per share from third-quarter business-development activity more than offset that improvement, including charges connected primarily with AtaiBeckley and Curevo.

The December quarter is the next operating test. Revenue for the first nine months reached 67.2 billion US dollars, leaving Lilly needing further substantial sales growth to reach the midpoint of its updated annual range.
