ENGIE reported stronger operating performance for the first nine months of 2026 on Thursday, November 5, and moved its full-year expectations toward the upper end of its existing ranges. In its 9M 2026 results release, the French energy group cited operational execution, renewable investment and the contribution from UK Power Networks.

EBIT excluding Nuclear reached 7.0 billion euros, up 9.7 percent on a published basis and 3.3 percent organically from a year earlier. Organic growth accelerated to 10.9 percent in the third quarter. ENGIE said the performance included 452 million euros of EBIT from UK Power Networks since its consolidation began in May.

Guidance moves toward the top

Management now expects 2026 net recurring income, Group share, to land at the upper end of its 4.9 billion to 5.5 billion euro guidance range. The same positioning applies to EBIT excluding Nuclear, for which the previous range was 9.2 billion to 10.2 billion euros.

Cash generation remained a central support for the outlook. Cash flow from operations reached 7.5 billion euros for the nine-month period, while economic net debt stood at 62.5 billion euros and the economic net debt-to-EBITDA ratio was 4.2 times. ENGIE also cited a contribution of about 400 million euros from its performance plan.

Renewables and storage expand

Renewables and battery energy storage remained important growth areas. ENGIE had 60.2 gigawatts of installed capacity and 6.6 gigawatts under construction at the end of September. The group signed more than 3 gigawatts of power purchase agreements in the first nine months, while more than 10 gigawatts of storage capacity was either operating or under construction worldwide.

Chief Executive Catherine MacGregor said the group was continuing to deliver renewable and storage projects with disciplined capital deployment and had accelerated the development of its European battery portfolio. She also pointed to strong commercial momentum from the power purchase agreements.

Nuclear talks remain a separate factor

ENGIE extended the deadline to December 12, 2026, for concluding the Heads of Terms concerning a potential acquisition of its nuclear activities by the Belgian state. The company said the completed Belgian nuclear phase-out had weighed on nuclear EBIT, making the exclusion of nuclear activities particularly relevant when investors assess the operating trend.

ENGIE stock traded at 24.03 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 10:05 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. Investors can follow the real-time quote of ENGIE stock as the market weighs stronger operating momentum against leverage, energy-market volatility and the pending nuclear discussions.
