- The program had acquired 93,308,523 shares for 2.17 billion euros since May 8.
- Investor attention remains focused on capital returns and the outlook for future cash generation.
Eni stock traded at 25.02 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 18:00 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. The quote was 1.50 percent below the 25.40 euros recorded in the previous report on Thursday, November 5.
On Wednesday, November 4, Eni said it had bought 4,278,035 of its own shares on Euronext Milan between October 26 and October 30. The purchases represented 0.14 percent of share capital and carried a weighted average price of 26.8815 euros per share.
The company reported total consideration of 114,999,934.62 euros. The transactions formed part of the second tranche of the treasury-share program approved by shareholders on May 6. Eni said the program is intended to provide shareholders with additional remuneration alongside dividends.
Buyback builds on stronger quarter
Since the program began on May 8, Eni had acquired 93,308,523 shares for total consideration of 2,169,915,235.04 euros. Including treasury shares already held, the company reported 180,136,630 treasury shares, equal to 5.95 percent of its share capital.
The latest repurchases follow Eni's third-quarter update, which highlighted stronger operating performance and higher planned shareholder distributions. The buyback therefore adds detail to the capital-allocation plan rather than signaling a change in operating strategy.
For investors, the next focus is the pace of further repurchases and the cash-flow backdrop supporting distributions. Future returns remain sensitive to energy prices and the company's ability to sustain operating cash generation.
