Devices drive quarterly growth

Third-quarter revenue increased 8 percent year over year to 605 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA reached 103 million euros against 106 million euros in the adjusted prior-year quarter. Containment & Delivery Systems led the expansion as demand for drug-delivery devices increased and recently added capacity ramped up.

The division generated 313 million euros of quarterly revenue and 77 million euros of adjusted EBITDA. Its adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 24.5 percent from 22.3 percent a year earlier. Primary Injectable Solutions also increased revenue to 123 million euros, although its adjusted EBITDA declined to 15 million euros.

Margins keep execution in focus

Group adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 17.1 percent from 19.0 percent in the adjusted prior-year quarter. For the first nine months, adjusted EBITDA declined to 272 million euros from 331 million euros as inventory reductions and weaker performance in Tubular Glass Europe and Moulded Glass weighed on earnings.

Moulded Glass generated 169 million euros of quarterly revenue, while adjusted EBITDA fell to 17 million euros from 29 million euros. Gerresheimer said the Chicago Heights plant in the United States closed in September as part of its transformation program.

Fourth quarter sets next test

Management expects a stronger fourth quarter with further earnings improvement and reiterated its 2026 guidance. The company targets revenue of 2.3 billion to 2.35 billion euros, an organic adjusted EBITDA margin of 17 percent to 18 percent and free cash flow before mergers and acquisitions of negative 50 million to negative 100 million euros.

Preparations for the sale of the Primary Packaging Plastics business are progressing, with closing expected in the first quarter of 2027. Gerresheimer also identified comprehensive refinancing as a next milestone after the completed Centor sale.
