Gerresheimer reported stronger third-quarter sales but a mixed earnings picture on Friday, October 30, 2026. According to an EQS release published by Finanzen.at, revenue including business units currently in the sales process rose 8 percent year over year to 605 million euros in the third quarter. Adjusted EBITDA reached 103 million euros, compared with 106 million euros in the prior-year quarter.

The adjusted EBITDA margin narrowed to 17.1 percent from 19.0 percent. For the first nine months, revenue was approximately 1.7 billion euros, broadly at the prior-year level, while adjusted EBITDA fell to 272 million euros from 331 million euros. The company attributed the decline to inventory reductions and weaker performance in Tubular Glass Europe and Moulded Glass.

Drug delivery drives the strongest division

Containment & Delivery Systems remained the main growth engine. Nine-month revenue increased to approximately 917 million euros from 876 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA rose to 211 million euros from 194 million euros. Third-quarter revenue reached approximately 313 million euros, and adjusted EBITDA was approximately 77 million euros. The division's margin improved to 24.5 percent from 22.3 percent as demand for drug-delivery devices increased and recently expanded capacity ramped up.

Primary Injectable Solutions showed signs of stabilization in the third quarter, but its nine-month performance remained below the previous year. Revenue for the division reached 335 million euros in the first nine months, against 360 million euros a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA fell to 32 million euros from 69 million euros. Third-quarter adjusted EBITDA improved sequentially within the business, although its margin of 12.5 percent remained below the prior-year level.

Glass businesses remain the main risk

Moulded Glass generated nine-month revenue of 479 million euros, down from 492 million euros. Adjusted EBITDA dropped to 52 million euros from 91 million euros. Management said inventory reductions used for cash management lowered capacity utilization and weighed on profitability. The company also said it had closed its Chicago Heights plant in the United States in September as part of its transformation program.

Gerresheimer expects a stronger fourth quarter with further earnings improvement, in line with its existing guidance. The sale of Centor was completed in October, and preparations for the sale of the Primary Packaging Plastics business are progressing. Gerresheimer currently expects that transaction to close in the first quarter of 2027. CFO Wolf Lehmann identified the transaction closing and comprehensive refinancing as the next milestones.

Share price and investor focus

The real-time quote of Gerresheimer stock stood at Lang & Schwarz at 33.48 euros on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 09:35 Berlin time. Investors are likely to focus on whether the stronger fourth quarter can offset the nine-month margin decline and whether the divestitures improve the group's financial position.
