Gerresheimer stock enters a stronger final quarter after demand lifted sales. Management kept its 2026 outlook unchanged despite weaker profitability.

Growth Meets Pressure Before Stronger Quarter

  • Drug delivery demand led Gerresheimer's quarterly revenue growth.
  • Inventory reductions and weaker glass operations weighed on profitability.
  • Management kept its full-year outlook unchanged and expects further earnings improvement in the final quarter.

Gerresheimer released preliminary third-quarter results on Friday, October 30, 2026, showing that revenue growth in its drug-delivery business is still being offset by pressure in parts of the portfolio. The company expects a stronger final quarter and kept its full-year outlook unchanged, according to the Gerresheimer announcement.

Revenue including business units currently in the sales process rose 8 percent year over year to 605 million euros in the third quarter. Adjusted EBITDA reached 103 million euros, compared with 106 million euros in the adjusted prior-year quarter. The result was therefore broadly stable despite the higher sales base.

Drug Delivery Leads Revenue Growth

The Containment & Delivery Systems division provided the main support. Its third-quarter revenue rose to 313 million euros from 286 million euros a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA increased to 77 million euros from 64 million euros. The division's adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 24.5 percent from 22.3 percent as demand for drug-delivery devices strengthened and expanded production capacity contributed more revenue and earnings.

Primary Injectable Solutions stabilized during the quarter, but its nine-month performance remained below the prior-year level. Third-quarter revenue reached 123 million euros against 114 million euros a year earlier, while adjusted EBITDA declined to 15 million euros from 19 million euros. Management said measures are under way to improve capacity utilization and competitiveness in the Tubular Glass business.

Inventory Actions Weigh On Margins

Moulded Glass also showed a mixed picture. Third-quarter revenue increased to 169 million euros from 165 million euros, but adjusted EBITDA fell to 17 million euros from 29 million euros. Its adjusted EBITDA margin narrowed to 10.2 percent from 17.4 percent. Gerresheimer attributed the pressure to inventory reductions, cash-management measures and lower capacity utilization in a weaker market environment.

Across the first nine months, revenue was about 1.7 billion euros, broadly in line with the adjusted prior-year period. Adjusted EBITDA declined to 272 million euros from 331 million euros, while the nine-month adjusted EBITDA margin fell to 15.9 percent from 19.4 percent. The figures show why stronger sales alone have not yet translated into comparable group profitability.

Outlook Depends On Fourth Quarter

Gerresheimer expects further earnings improvement in the fourth quarter and continues to target its existing full-year ranges for revenue, adjusted EBITDA margin and free cash flow before mergers and acquisitions. The company also said preparations for the sale of its Primary Packaging Plastics business are progressing, with closing currently expected in the first quarter of 2027.

Management described revenue growth, stable quarterly adjusted EBITDA and the completed Centor sale as progress in its transformation. The next milestones are the closing of the Primary Packaging Plastics transaction and a comprehensive refinancing. Investors will therefore weigh the expected seasonal improvement against execution risks in the glass businesses and the need to restore cash generation.

Gerresheimer stock traded at 30.56 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 11:41 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 2.43 percent below the Xetra close of Thursday, November 5.
