- Third-quarter revenue and adjusted EBITDA exceeded expectations, led by Biopharma and immunoglobulin demand.
- Management kept its full-year margin target unchanged while warning that albumin weakness in China persists.
- Refinancing pushed significant debt maturities into the fourth quarter of 2028.
Grifols reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter results on Monday, November 2, 2026, as Biopharma growth and immunoglobulin demand lifted revenue and profitability. Investing.com reported that the company also reaffirmed its full-year guidance.
Revenue reached 2.04 billion euros, up 8.4 percent at constant currency and ahead of the 1.98 billion euro consensus estimate. Net profit rose 27.9 percent to 162 million euros, while adjusted EBITDA increased 9.8 percent at constant currency to 538 million euros. The adjusted EBITDA margin widened to 26.4 percent.
Biopharma leads the recovery
Biopharma revenue grew 10.3 percent at constant currency. Immunoglobulin sales, Grifols' main growth engine, increased 11.3 percent, while subcutaneous immunoglobulins advanced 40.3 percent. The Alpha-1 and specialty proteins franchise grew 18.2 percent, supported by rabies-related products.
The quarter was not uniformly strong. Albumin revenue declined 13.2 percent, reflecting regulatory factors and elevated inventories in China. The weakness keeps pressure on the product mix and leaves the company's recovery dependent on continued growth in its higher-performing franchises.
Cash flow eases debt pressure
Grifols generated 208 million euros of free cash flow before mergers and acquisitions during the quarter. Its net leverage ratio fell to 3.98 times from 4.2 times a year earlier, while liquidity rose to 2.14 billion euros. The company also refinanced obligations due in 2027 and now faces no significant debt maturities until the fourth quarter of 2028.
Management presented the balance-sheet progress as part of a broader plan combining profit growth, cost discipline, margin improvement, deleveraging and stronger cash generation. For investors, the key test is whether operating cash flow can keep reducing leverage while the China albumin market remains under pressure.
Guidance remains in focus
Grifols kept its full-year adjusted EBITDA margin target at 25 percent. The company said Grifols Egypt is on track to collect about 1 million liters of plasma in 2026, with a long-term goal of up to 3 million liters annually by 2029. Top-line results from the Phase 3 SPARTA study are expected by the end of the fourth quarter.
Grifols stock traded at 11.32 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:48 p.m. CET on Thursday, November 5, 2026.
