Hella appoints Jens Grösch as CFO. Hella stock sits 17.76 percent below its high
Published on 10/07/2026 at 10:37 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSHella stock was EUR 70.15 at Lang & Schwarz on October 7, 2026 at 10:31 a.m. CEST, placing it 17.76 percent below the EUR 85.30 52-week high. The company appointed Jens Grösch as chief financial officer effective December 1, 2026, according to FORVIA HELLA on September 25, 2026.
New CFO starts December 1
Grösch will succeed Philippe Vienney, whose management contract expires on February 28, 2027 and will not be renewed at his request. The official release says Grösch began his career at Hella in 2001 and joined dSPACE as chief financial officer in 2023.
The management change gives Hella a defined transition date while the supplier works through weaker lighting profitability. Grösch will take responsibility for finance and controlling, making cash generation and cost discipline central measures for his first months.
First-half margin holds at 5.40 percent
In the first half of 2026, Hella reported sales of EUR 3.97 billion, down 0.20 percent from the same period of 2025, according to the Yahoo Finance transcript of the July 30, 2026 earnings call. Operating margin was 5.40 percent, compared with 6.00 percent in the first half of 2025, while earnings before interest and taxes reached EUR 169 million versus EUR 138 million.
The segment split explains the pressure. Electronics sales increased 6.60 percent year over year to EUR 1.69 billion, while lighting sales fell 3.60 percent to EUR 1.75 billion. Lifecycle Solutions grew 5.30 percent to EUR 516.00 million, showing that Hella's businesses are moving in different directions.
Guidance keeps a wide range
Management maintained its 2026 outlook for sales of EUR 7.40 billion to EUR 7.90 billion, an operating margin of 5.40 percent to 6.00 percent and net cash flow of at least 1.80 percent of sales. The first-half net cash flow was EUR 66 million, down from EUR 114 million a year earlier, so the cash target is a material execution test.
For investors, the key contrast is clear: electronics and Lifecycle Solutions are growing, but lighting is weighing on profitability. Hella's planned Lighting Transformation Program 2.0 therefore emphasizes cost reduction and operational improvements rather than sales growth alone.
Stock stays below its yearly high
Hella is listed on Xetra under ticker HLE.DE and is included in the MDAX. The October 7, 2026 market capitalization was EUR 7.8 billion, while the 52-week range was EUR 67.90 to EUR 85.30.
At Lang & Schwarz, Hella stock was trading at EUR 70.15 on October 7, 2026 at 10:31 a.m. CEST, up plus 0.94 percent versus the EUR 69.50 prior close of October 6, 2026. The relatively small daily move leaves the CFO transition and the 5.40 percent first-half operating margin as the more consequential reference points. The further course of trading is shown by the continuously updated real-time quote of Hella stock.
