Procedure growth supports revenue
Worldwide procedures using da Vinci and Ion systems rose approximately 15 percent. Da Vinci procedures increased about 14 percent and Ion procedures about 31 percent. Intuitive placed 546 da Vinci systems, including 315 da Vinci 5 systems, compared with 427 and 240, respectively, a year earlier.

Legal cost clouds reported profit
GAAP net income attributable to Intuitive Surgical fell to 522.8 million US dollars, or 1.49 US dollars per diluted share, from 704.4 million US dollars, or 1.95 US dollars, in the prior-year quarter. The result included a 450 million US dollar pretax charge linked to the proposed settlement of previously disclosed antitrust litigation.
Non-GAAP net income rose to 1.05 billion US dollars, or 3.00 US dollars per diluted share, from 867.2 million US dollars, or 2.40 US dollars. The company also recognized a 22 million US dollar after-tax benefit from refunds for earlier tariffs. The settlement remains subject to court approval and includes no admission of liability or wrongdoing.
Outlook keeps adoption central
Management expects worldwide da Vinci procedure growth of 14 percent to 15 percent in 2026, with results closer to the midpoint. It forecasts a non-GAAP gross margin of 68.7 percent to 69.3 percent and operating expense growth of 11 percent to 13 percent, assuming current tariffs remain in force through year-end.
