Jungheinrich is expanding its electric forklift portfolio for heavy-duty applications. In a press release dated November 2, 2026, the company said customers had been able to order the new EFG 5 series since November 1.
New models target heavy-duty users
The EFG 5 series covers load capacities from 4.0 to 5.0 tonnes and lift heights of up to 7,500 millimetres. Jungheinrich is targeting industrial customers, including companies in building materials, beverages and automotive manufacturing that often still use forklifts powered by internal-combustion engines.
According to the Jungheinrich press release, the new drive and lift technology is designed to deliver up to 15 percent higher throughput. Faster acceleration, higher travel speeds and shorter lifting cycles are intended to improve handling performance.
The series is offered in efficiencyPLUS and drive&liftPLUS configurations. The first emphasizes energy-efficient operation, while the second prioritizes acceleration, travel speed and lifting performance. Customers can choose between lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries, with additional cabin and equipment packages available for different operating environments.
Product rollout meets market scrutiny
The launch strengthens Jungheinrichs position in electric counterbalance trucks while seeking to address applications where combustion-engine vehicles remain common. For investors, the commercial test will be whether the new range converts into orders and supports margins in industrial markets. The product announcement alone does not establish the scale of future revenue or its effect on earnings.
The real-time quote of Jungheinrich stock was 22.16 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 12:33 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026.
