Citi has taken a more constructive view of KION as a recovery in industrial trucks comes into focus, according to a report listed by Yahoo Finance on Friday, November 6, 2026. The analyst view adds a potential recovery scenario to an investment case still shaped by weak order momentum in KION's core truck business.

Automation offsets truck weakness

KION's third-quarter performance showed a clear split between its businesses. Revenue in Intelligent Automation Solutions rose 15.8 percent year on year to EUR 890 million, while Industrial Trucks and Services revenue increased only 0.6 percent to EUR 1.96 billion, according to Forkliftaction News.

Demand remains the main constraint. Group order intake fell 0.9 percent year on year to EUR 2.65 billion in the third quarter, while the first-nine-month figure declined 4.9 percent to EUR 8.44 billion. KION said its truck unit was not keeping pace with a growing material-handling market, particularly in value and economy trucks.

Lower guidance limits the upside

KION cut its 2026 revenue outlook to EUR 11.45 billion to EUR 11.75 billion and said its medium-term target of a double-digit adjusted EBIT margin would be reached only after 2027. Citi's more positive view points to a possible improvement in the cycle, but it does not remove the execution risk from weaker orders and delayed margin progress.

KION is also preparing reporting changes. Most leasing activities are scheduled to move into a separate Financial Services segment from the first quarter of 2027, while the company is preparing changes linked to IFRS 18. Investors will therefore watch both the operational recovery in trucks and the way the new structure affects reported performance.

KION stock traded at EUR 34.26 on Lang & Schwarz at 18:34 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026, 0.17 percent below the Xetra close of EUR 34.32 on Friday, November 6. The real-time quote of KION stock shows the latest trading level.
