- Liontown reported AUD 199 million in September-quarter revenue from spodumene concentrate sales.
- Underlying operating cash flow reached AUD 69 million while plant recovery fell to 60 percent.
- Management reaffirmed FY2027 guidance and remains focused on the Kathleen Valley ramp-up.
Liontown Resources reported AUD 199 million in revenue for the September quarter, supported by 82,000 tonnes of spodumene concentrate sales. The update was published on October 29 and described a mining operation still in ramp-up mode at Kathleen Valley.
Underlying operating cash flow reached AUD 69 million, while statutory operating cash flow was AUD 46.6 million after a one-off customer settlement. The company ended the quarter with AUD 502 million in cash and spent AUD 82 million on capital expenditure, including AUD 68 million on growth projects.
Ramp-up remains the central investment theme
Underground mining reached an annualized rate of 1.6 million tonnes during the quarter, and development advanced to a record 4,021 meters. Management said the mining rate is expected to rise to about 1.9 million tonnes annually in the December quarter before reaching 2.8 million tonnes annually by the end of FY2027.
Plant availability improved to 94 percent, but recovery fell to 60 percent from 63 percent in the previous quarter as the operation processed more variable open-pit stockpiles. Management expects recovery to improve as cleaner underground ore becomes a larger share of the feed.
Expansion adds capital and execution risk
Liontown reaffirmed its FY2027 guidance despite a volatile lithium market. The staged AUD 389 million Kathleen Valley expansion is designed to raise processing capacity from 2.8 million tonnes annually to 4.2 million tonnes annually and lift average concentrate production from FY2030.
The update leaves investors focused on execution, cost control and lithium pricing. Higher development spending supports future capacity but also increases the importance of maintaining liquidity while the mine moves toward its targeted run rate.
