- Third-quarter results are scheduled before the US market opens on Friday, November 6.
- Phase 3 data strengthened the oncology case, but overall survival results remain immature.
- Investors will focus on vaccine demand, research spending and the path toward regulatory submissions.
Moderna is approaching its third-quarter results with two competing investor questions: whether seasonal vaccine demand can support the recovery plan and whether its oncology pipeline can become a commercial growth driver. The biotechnology company is scheduled to report before the US market opens on Friday, November 6, with an 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time webcast, according to Moderna's October 13 announcement.
Moderna stock traded at 208.43 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 16:33 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 4.40% above the Xetra close of 199.64 euros on Monday, November 2. Investors can follow the real-time quote of Moderna stock for subsequent trading updates.
Oncology data raise the stakes
Merck and Moderna reported detailed Phase 3 INTerpath-001 results on October 22 for intismeran autogene combined with Keytruda in patients with completely resected stage IIB-IV melanoma. The companies said the combination reduced the risk of recurrence or death by 42% versus Keytruda alone after a median follow-up of 24.6 months, while the risk of distant metastasis or death fell by 38%, according to the Merck and Moderna release.
The trial enrolled 1,137 patients and showed a two-year recurrence-free survival rate of 82.2% for the combination, compared with 70.0% for Keytruda alone. Overall survival data are not yet mature, and the study remains ongoing. Regulatory discussions have begun, leaving approval, manufacturing and commercial execution as the next hurdles.
Friday report sets the next checkpoint
The earnings update will put Moderna's respiratory portfolio in focus, including its COVID-19 vaccines, influenza product mFlusiva and RSV vaccine mResvia. Investors are likely to assess autumn demand, research spending and management's comments on the timing of potential regulatory submissions for intismeran.
The report may clarify whether the oncology program is moving toward a nearer-term commercial opportunity or remains primarily a longer-term pipeline asset.
