Morningstar lifted its fair value estimate for Credit Agricole from EUR 15.00 to EUR 21.00 per share on October 8, 2026. The revision followed second-quarter revenue growth of 8.00 percent, 7.00 percent growth in customer loans over the past year and a 14.00 percent return on tangible equity, according to Morningstar.
Fair value moves to EUR 21.00
Morningstar said the higher estimate reflected faster expected growth and improved profitability. Its forecast calls for 5.00 percent annual revenue growth through 2028, above management's 3.50 percent floor, while the analyst kept a more cautious view of costs and credit losses.
The valuation change is substantial against the previous EUR 15.00 estimate, but the new figure remains an estimate rather than a company forecast. Morningstar also said more than 40.00 percent of profits come from insurance, asset management and wealth management, businesses it described as less capital intensive and less exposed to credit risk.
Second-quarter figures set the benchmark
Credit Agricole reported EUR 7.36 billion of revenue and EUR 2.05 billion of net income for the second quarter of 2026. Revenue increased 5.10 percent, while earnings per share came in at EUR 0.59 against a EUR 0.60 estimate, according to Ideal Investor.
The next test is already dated. Credit Agricole's financial calendar lists third-quarter 2026 results for October 30, 2026, according to the company's financial information page.
Credit Agricole stock stays below its yearly high
At 12:34 p.m. CEST on October 8, 2026, the Lang and Schwarz quote stood at EUR 16.25, down 1.81 percent versus the prior close of EUR 16.55. The price was 20.34 percent below the 52-week high of EUR 20.40 and 6.28 percent above the 52-week low of EUR 15.29, using the same euro market snapshot.
For investors, the valuation case now rests on whether the strong operating trend can persist while credit costs remain contained. The market capitalization was EUR 49.2 billion on October 8, 2026, giving the fair value revision a clear numerical reference point without turning it into a forecast.
