Murata Manufacturing stock is in focus after the company raised its full-year outlook. A five-year MLCC buildout raises the stakes for capacity execution.

Outlook and capacity expansion

  • Murata raised its fiscal-year revenue and operating-profit forecasts after record first-half growth.
  • Data-center and AI-server demand is supporting stronger component volumes and a larger investment cycle.
  • The MLCC expansion makes execution, utilization and returns on capital key investor issues through fiscal 2030.

Murata Manufacturing raised its full-year outlook on Friday, October 30, 2026, after record first-half growth. The company's earnings presentation links the stronger outlook to demand from data centers, AI servers, higher production volumes and an improved product mix.

Forecast upgrade broadens growth case

For the six months ended September 30, revenue rose 20.8 percent year over year to 1,090.8 billion yen. Operating profit increased 48.9 percent to 245.9 billion yen, giving Murata a stronger base for the second half.

The company now expects fiscal-year revenue of 2.26 trillion yen and operating profit of 520 billion yen. Capital expenditure is projected at 270 billion yen, as Murata adds capacity for future demand while higher fixed costs remain an execution factor.

MLCC investment shifts investor focus

Murata plans to invest approximately 1 trillion yen from fiscal 2026 through fiscal 2030 to expand its global multilayer ceramic capacitor, or MLCC, production base. About 350 billion yen is earmarked for buildings and 650 billion yen for production equipment, with investment expected to ramp up from fiscal 2028.

Murata expects MLCC sales in fiscal 2030 to more than double from fiscal 2025 levels. The plan covers new production buildings in Japan and additional capacity at overseas sites, extending the growth opportunity beyond the current results cycle.
