PACCAR stock: Q3 earnings webcast runs into next week

PACCAR's third-quarter earnings remain in focus at the start of the week because the company's recorded earnings webcast will be available through Tuesday, November 3. The webcast relates to results released on October 27, when PACCAR reported stronger revenue, profit and truck demand.

Strong quarter supports demand outlook

In its October 27 release, PACCAR investor relations reported third-quarter revenue of USD 7.94 billion, up 19 percent from the same period a year earlier. Net income increased 44 percent to USD 847.5 million, or USD 1.61 per diluted share.

Truck deliveries reached 40,100 units in the quarter, compared with 31,900 a year earlier. PACCAR Parts generated record quarterly revenue of USD 1.78 billion, while pretax income from Financial Services rose to USD 138.1 million from USD 126.2 million.

2027 truck demand remains central

Management said fleet customers are beginning to replace older vehicles with newer, more fuel-efficient trucks. PACCAR expects US and Canadian Class 8 truck retail sales of 240,000 to 280,000 vehicles in 2027, following an estimated 240,000 to 260,000 vehicles in 2026.

The company also plans capital spending of USD 650 million to USD 700 million in 2027 and research and development expenses of USD 460 million to USD 500 million. PACCAR Connect, a new transportation technology platform for Kenworth and Peterbilt Class 8 trucks, is scheduled to become available in early 2027.
