Petrovietnam Gas stock gains 4.46 percent as LPG ties deepen
Published on 10/08/2026 at 10:02 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSPetrovietnam Gas stock (ISIN VN000000GAS3) gained 4.46 percent to VND 81,900 on October 8, 2026, while PV GAS and BSR expanded cooperation across LPG supply and shared infrastructure. The same-day agreement gives the gas producer a fresh operating angle beyond its recent earnings figures.
PV GAS deepens LPG cooperation
As Thanh Tra reported on October 8, 2026, PV GAS and BSR reviewed cooperation in LPG trading, infrastructure sharing, research, training and workforce development. BSR has supplied PV GAS with more than 12,000 tons of LPG per month under an offtake contract, the report said.
The arrangement also includes preferential access to BSR's Jetty port during major maintenance, supporting LPG imports for central Vietnam. For Petrovietnam Gas, the significance lies in connecting supply, logistics and maintenance capabilities within the same energy group.
First-half revenue rose 46 percent
According to Thuong Truong on October 6, 2026, PV GAS reported first-half 2026 net revenue of VND 81.269 trillion, up 46 percent from the year-earlier period. Net profit exceeded VND 9 trillion, while first-half interest income reached VND 680 billion, up more than 13 percent year over year.
The earnings mix also highlights a key counter-factor. Dry-gas volume fell 3 percent and LPG volume declined 25 percent in the first half, even as higher energy prices supported revenue growth. That makes pricing and energy-market conditions important alongside the company's physical sales volumes.
Analysts see limited upside
Investing.com lists a Buy consensus from eight analysts, with four Buy ratings, four Hold ratings and zero Sell ratings. The average 12-month price target is VND 85,736.7, with a high of VND 96,800 and a low of VND 72,656.89; the average target lies 4.68 percent above the October 8 price.
The market is therefore pricing a combination of strong reported growth and a more modest forward gap to consensus. PV GAS also held more cash than debt on its balance sheet, while its gas, LPG and LNG businesses remain exposed to commodity prices and domestic demand.
Stock trades below its yearly high
Petrovietnam Gas was last at VND 81,900 on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange on October 8, 2026, with a market capitalization of VND 197.6 trillion. The price stood below the 52-week high of VND 131,500 and above the 52-week low of VND 56,000, keeping the stock below its yearly peak despite the 4.46 percent daily gain.
