PKO Bank issues PLN 1.35 billion bonds as Barclays keeps Hold on PKO Bank stock
Published on 10/07/2026 at 10:04 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSPKO Bank (ISIN PLPKO0000016) was trading at EUR 27.97 at Lang & Schwarz on October 7, 2026 at 10:01 a.m. CEST, up 0.04 percent versus the prior close of EUR 27.96. On September 29, 2026, the bank completed a PLN 1.35 billion senior non preferred bond issue, while Barclays maintained a Hold rating and a PLN 101.00 price target in a report dated August 15, 2026, as reported by Capital.com.
PLN 1.35 billion bond issue
Bankier.pl reported that PKO Bank closed book-building for the eight-year notes on September 29, 2026. The issue attracted subscriptions for 2,781 bonds, while 2,700 were allocated, producing a 2.91 percent reduction rate.
The notes carry a variable-rate margin of 155 basis points and can be called after seven or 7.5 years, on October 6, 2033, or April 6, 2034, respectively, according to Bankier.pl. The financing strengthens the bank's regulatory funding base, but the 155 basis point margin also sets a visible cost for that capital.
Profit grows despite higher tax
PKO Bank reported PLN 5.29 billion of consolidated net profit in the first half of 2026, up 3.10 percent year over year, according to Capital.com. Financing volumes increased 13.90 percent and fee and commission income rose 10.10 percent, while PLN 700.00 million of provisions were linked to Swiss franc loan legal risk.
The comparison is constructive but not one-sided: lending and fee growth supported earnings, while legal-risk provisions remained a material charge. For investors, the next report will show whether volume growth can offset pressure from provisions and funding costs.
October meeting precedes results
PKO Bank's investor-relations calendar schedules an extraordinary general meeting for October 14, 2026, followed by third-quarter 2026 results on November 5, 2026, according to the PKO Bank investor-relations page. Those dates place governance decisions and the next earnings update close together in the market calendar.
