Trading mix broadens in Q3
Transaction-based revenue rose 19% to USD 867 million. Event-contract revenue increased more than sixfold to USD 173 million, while options revenue climbed 31% to USD 399 million and equities revenue rose 41% to USD 121 million.
The mix also exposed pressure in older revenue streams. Cryptocurrency revenue fell 55% to USD 120 million, and net interest revenue declined 9% to USD 415 million. Other revenue increased 61% to USD 142 million, helped by Trump Account service revenue and Robinhood Gold subscriptions.
Platform scale supports expansion
Robinhood said total platform assets increased 19% year over year to USD 396 billion. Quarterly net deposits reached USD 15.7 billion, funded customers rose 7% to 28.7 million and investment accounts increased 9% to 30.4 million.
Gold subscribers grew 34% to 5.2 million, while annualized average revenue per user increased 5% to USD 200. Equity notional trading volume reached a record USD 992 billion, and options contracts traded rose 48% to 905 million.
Profitability remains the counterweight
Net income fell 14% to USD 476 million, while diluted earnings per share declined 16% to USD 0.51. The result included USD 67 million of unrealized losses, primarily related to Robinhood Ventures Fund I. Adjusted net income decreased 3% to USD 550 million, and adjusted earnings per share fell 3% to USD 0.60.
Robinhood lowered the upper end of its 2026 adjusted operating expense and share-based compensation outlook by USD 25 million. The new range is USD 2.675 billion to USD 2.75 billion, compared with the previous ceiling of USD 2.775 billion.
Investors can follow the real-time quote of Robinhood Markets stock. The lower outlook ceiling offers an efficiency signal, but the stock still depends on whether newer products can sustain platform growth without eroding profitability.
