Safran.AI plans to establish its first international subsidiary in Singapore after Safran and the Singapore Economic Development Board signed a memorandum of understanding on October 29, 2026. The Singapore EDB said the project will create an AI centre of excellence focused initially on automating digital inspections for aviation maintenance.

The initiative gives Safran.AI a regional base for research, engineering and customer support across ASEAN. The entity is expected to grow to around 50 employees over the next five years, with recruitment for data scientists and AI engineers scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

What has changed since the last report

The latest relevant report, published on Friday, November 6, 2026, already covered the Singapore plan and its expected hiring. The new investor-relevant development is the stronger Safran quote since that report: Safran stock traded at 295.45 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 18:01 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. That was 1.70 percent above the 290.50-euro quote cited at 11:11 CET in the latest report.

The Singapore EDB said the planned subsidiary will use local research capabilities and academic partnerships while serving Safran.AI customers across the region. The project is therefore an operating expansion rather than a disclosed group-wide earnings forecast. Its financial contribution will depend on recruitment, technology deployment and customer adoption in the ASEAN maintenance market.

Safran has operated in Singapore for more than 45 years and employs around 900 people across five production, engineering and maintenance sites, according to the Singapore Economic Development Board. The country already supports the group's maintenance, customer-support and innovation activities.
