Siemens Energy Ventures joined Type One Energy's USD 200 million Series B financing, adding a strategic fusion investment to the energy technology group's portfolio. Type One Energy announced the round on October 6, according to Morningstar, carrying the Business Wire release.

Investment supports Project Infinity

The financing was co-led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures and Clutterbuck Capital. New investors included Lowercarbon Capital, Siemens Energy Ventures and SiteGround Capital.

Type One Energy said the proceeds will support its FusionDirect technology program and Project Infinity at the Tennessee Valley Authority's Bull Run site in Tennessee. The project includes the Infinity One stellarator engineering prototype and the planned 400-megawatt Infinity Two commercial fusion plant. The company described the financing as part of a partner-based model that brings together capital, manufacturing, engineering and operating capabilities.

For Siemens Energy, the investment broadens its exposure to fusion commercialization but does not represent a disclosed operating contract or near-term earnings contribution. Siemens Energy Ventures partner Enrique Gonzalez Zanetich said the investment strengthens the group's position in fusion while it explores technologies and collaborations that could advance commercialization.

Results date remains the next catalyst

Investors will focus on the outlook after Siemens Energy confirmed its raised fiscal 2026 forecast following the third quarter.
