SMA Solar Technology AG stock rises after the company lifted its 2026 guidance to sales of EUR 1.625 billion to EUR 1.725 billion and EBITDA of EUR 180 million to EUR 230 million on August 13, 2026. The shares last traded at EUR 57.05, up 3.35%, with a market value of EUR 1.99 billion and a 52-week range of EUR 15.41 to EUR 70.70.
Half-year numbers improve
The company said first-half 2026 sales were EUR 686.6 million, versus EUR 684.9 million a year earlier, while EBITDA before one-time effects reached EUR 65.9 million from EUR 50.3 million. EBITDA including one-time effects was EUR 88.3 million, and EBIT rose to EUR 62.4 million from minus EUR 19.0 million in H1 2025.
That mix matters for investors because the top line was stable while profitability improved sharply. Net result increased to EUR 72.8 million from minus EUR 42.4 million, and earnings per share moved to EUR 2.10 from minus EUR 1.22.
Backlog supports outlook
Order backlog reached EUR 1.754 billion as of June 30, 2026, up from EUR 1.161 billion a year earlier. Free cash flow was EUR 71.8 million, net cash stood at EUR 244.6 million, and the equity ratio improved to 31.7% from 28.0% at the end of 2025.
The guidance increase also compares well with the latest analyst view. A market consensus page showed an average price target of EUR 63.00 and a Buy rating, while a separate market report said the new EBITDA range was above the prior consensus estimate of EUR 153 million.
What the product does
SMA Solar's portfolio centers on PV and battery inverters, system solutions for solar and storage projects, and charging solutions for electric vehicles. The company said demand for the Home & Business Solutions unit improved in the first half, while Large Scale & Project Solutions continued to carry most of the backlog.
Stock level
As of August 13, 2026, the stock traded at EUR 57.05, with a previous close of EUR 55.20 and a day range of EUR 56.55 to EUR 58.525. The move leaves the shares below the 52-week high of EUR 70.70 and well above the 52-week low of EUR 15.41.
