- STRABAG reached first-half output of EUR 10 billion and lifted its 2026 outlook.
- The order backlog climbed to a record EUR 36 billion, increasing visibility for future activity.
- The next scheduled operating update covers January through September and is due on November 12, 2026.
STRABAG is heading into a scheduled reporting pause with strong first-half operating momentum and a higher 2026 outlook. The construction group will enter its quiet period on Thursday, November 5, ahead of the trading statement for January through September on November 12, according to the company's investor-relations page.
The company said first-half output reached EUR 10 billion, while the order backlog rose to a record EUR 36 billion. STRABAG also said its business was supported by infrastructure demand in Germany and international markets, particularly in mobility, energy and water projects.
Guidance rises on order visibility
In its first-half earnings call, published by Yahoo Finance on August 28, management said output volume increased 12% year over year. The order backlog was 27% above the prior-year level and 15% higher than at the end of 2025. Management described the backlog-to-output ratio of 1.6 years as providing visibility well into 2028.
STRABAG lifted its 2026 output-volume outlook to close to EUR 23 billion from around EUR 22 billion previously. It also raised its expected EBIT margin range to 5.5% to 6%, compared with the earlier range of 5% to 5.5%. Net investments are still expected to remain at no more than EUR 1.5 billion.
Management attributed the stronger outlook to the record backlog and the sharp increase in second-quarter activity. First-half EBIT rose 35% to EUR 174 million, while EBITDA increased 30% to EUR 560 million. The company cautioned that first-half EBIT is affected by seasonal patterns and is not representative of the expected full-year performance.
Investors await the next checkpoint
The November 12 statement will give investors the next operating read on backlog conversion, construction activity and the raised full-year targets. The main investment question is whether the order pipeline can translate into profitable growth while STRABAG manages project execution, cost pressure and the seasonal pattern of road construction.
