- Third-quarter net income reached 19.53 billion US dollars after a 20.91 billion US dollar digital-asset gain.
- Revenue slipped 3 percent year over year to 125.4 million US dollars as software activity weakened.
- Andrew Kang leaves as CFO on November 5, while Reza Virasteh is scheduled to take over on January 1, 2027.
Strategy reported record third-quarter operating income before Andrew Kang's scheduled departure as chief financial officer on November 5. The company said in its October 29 financial release that the quarter ended September 30 and was dominated by gains on its bitcoin holdings.
Bitcoin gain drives quarterly profit
Operating income rose to 20.91 billion US dollars from 3.89 billion US dollars in the third quarter of 2025. The gain on digital assets accounted for the full operating-income figure in both periods, highlighting how closely Strategy's reported earnings remain tied to bitcoin prices and its holdings.
Net income reached 19.53 billion US dollars, or 44.75 US dollars per diluted share, compared with 2.79 billion US dollars and 8.42 US dollars per share a year earlier. Net income attributable to common stockholders was 19.12 billion US dollars after 419.6 million US dollars of preferred-stock dividends.
Software business remains under pressure
Total revenue fell 3 percent year over year to 125.4 million US dollars from 128.7 million US dollars. Gross profit was 89.6 million US dollars, producing a 71 percent gross margin versus 90.7 million US dollars and a 70 percent margin in the comparable quarter.
The contrasting figures leave investors balancing a large digital-asset exposure against a smaller software operation. Strategy reported 848,517 bitcoins as of October 25, with holdings up 26 percent year to date at that point. Management also said the company had raised 21.23 billion US dollars of capital during 2026 through October 25.
CFO transition sets next checkpoint
Kang will step down on November 5 and remain with Strategy as an adviser through December 31. President and CEO Phong Le will oversee the finance organization and serve as principal financial officer during the interim period. Reza Virasteh, currently executive vice president of operations, is scheduled to become CFO and co-principal financial officer on January 1, 2027, while Le retains responsibility for the company's bitcoin strategy.
Strategy stock traded at 119.13 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 2:30 p.m. CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The next leadership change is therefore the immediate corporate milestone for investors, while future earnings will continue to depend on bitcoin prices, financing conditions and software execution. The S&P 500 remains the broader benchmark for US-listed equities.
