S&P Global Ratings raised Synopsys Inc. and its senior unsecured debt to BBB+ from BBB on October 26, assigning a stable outlook. In its research update, the agency linked the action to stronger long-term operating expectations after Synopsys presented new guidance at its analyst day.

Synopsys stock traded at 411.75 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:09 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 2.72 percent below the Xetra close of Monday, November 2; the real-time quote of Synopsys stock remains available.

Higher growth expectations support rating

S&P lifted its annual revenue growth forecast for 2027 through 2029 to the mid-teens percentage range from around 10 percent. Its 2029 EBITDA margin forecast rose to 49 percent from 45 percent, while management is targeting roughly 15 percent annual revenue growth through 2030 and operating margins near 50 percent.

The agency also highlighted Synopsys' silicon-to-systems strategy, which combines electronic design automation, design intellectual property and simulation software. S&P views AI as a possible demand accelerator because additional design iterations can increase verification, simulation and other tool usage.

Ansys execution remains a central catalyst

Ansys integration is ahead of plan, according to S&P. Cost synergies are expected to reach 400 million US dollars by fiscal 2027, one year earlier than previously scheduled. Revenue synergies, AI monetization, higher-margin software and royalty income form the main support for the improved credit view.

The rating agency nevertheless flagged risks from large acquisitions with limited EBITDA and from faster displacement by AI or open-source electronic design automation tools. Synopsys also has not reiterated its earlier goal of keeping net leverage below 1x while increasing shareholder returns.
