Takeda reported stronger first-half fiscal 2026 revenue on October 29, 2026, and raised its full-year outlook, while highlighting progress in new medicines and its late-stage pipeline. The company said the forecast upgrade mainly reflects foreign-exchange benefits, keeping the focus on execution and future product launches.

Outlook benefits from currency effects
In its FY2026 first-half results release, Takeda said revenue for the six months ended September 30 increased 8.4% on an actual-exchange-rate basis to JPY 2,407.0 billion. At constant exchange rates, revenue declined 1.0%. Core operating profit rose 11.2% on an actual-exchange-rate basis and 0.7% at constant exchange rates.
Reported operating profit increased 60.4% to JPY 406.7 billion, while reported net profit rose 171.8% to JPY 305.6 billion. Takeda said the reported comparison benefited from the end of the amortization period for VYVANSE intangible assets and lower impairment charges. Core EPS reached JPY 308, up 10.5% at actual exchange rates but down 1.2% at constant exchange rates.
The revised full-year forecast calls for revenue of JPY 4,700.0 billion, compared with JPY 4,640.0 billion previously. Core operating profit is now forecast at JPY 1,190.0 billion, against JPY 1,160.0 billion before, while core EPS is expected to reach JPY 482 versus JPY 472. Adjusted free cash flow guidance was raised to JPY 700.0 billion to JPY 800.0 billion from JPY 650.0 billion to JPY 750.0 billion. The annual dividend forecast remained JPY 204 per share.
Launches and pipeline shape next phase
Takeda pointed to approvals for ORZEYFUL in the United States, Japan and China and the U.S. launch of MIMRYLO as key commercial milestones. The company also said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration accepted zasocitinib for Priority Review, while the European Medicines Agency is reviewing the application.
Oncology remains a major pipeline focus. In a separate Takeda announcement dated October 23, the company reported that arcotatug tavatecan met the dual primary endpoints of overall survival and progression-free survival in the Phase 3 G-HOPE-001 study. In previously treated advanced gastric cancer, median overall survival was 10.2 months with the investigational treatment versus 6.9 months with physician's choice. Median progression-free survival was 7.1 months versus 3.1 months.
The results support a planned regulatory filing in Japan and continued development in CLDN18.2-positive cancers. Takeda also plans global Phase 3 trials in gastric and pancreatic cancer, although arcotatug tavatecan remains investigational and has not been approved by regulators.
December strategy update ahead
Takeda said it will host a Capital Markets Day in Tokyo on December 11, 2026. Investors are likely to focus on how the new launches, regulatory milestones, transformation savings and late-stage pipeline can support growth beyond the company's current Horizon One priorities.
The broader U.S. market can be followed through current S&P 500 market reports.
