Tokyo Electron reported stronger first-half results and issued a bullish fiscal 2027 outlook on Friday, October 30. The Japanese semiconductor-equipment maker also approved a share repurchase of up to 150 billion yen, putting earnings momentum and capital returns at the center of the investor debate.

Stronger results reset the outlook

According to an Investing.com report published by Yahoo Finance, revenue rose 41.3 percent year on year to 1.67 trillion yen in the six months through September. Operating income increased 67.2 percent to 506.78 billion yen, while attributable net income climbed 56 percent to 376.93 billion yen.

Tokyo Electron's first full-year fiscal 2027 forecast calls for revenue of 3.7 trillion yen, operating income of 1.169 trillion yen and attributable net income of 865 billion yen. Management linked the outlook to expanding demand for AI servers and higher customer investment in semiconductor production equipment.

Buyback adds a capital-return signal

The repurchase programme can reach 150 billion yen and is scheduled to run from November 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. Following the five-for-one stock split effective October 1, the company also set its year-end dividend forecast at 108 yen per share.

Tokyo Electron stock traded at 55.90 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 15:07 CET on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 1.57 percent below the 56.79 euros cited in the previous ad-hoc-news.de report published on November 2. Investors are likely to focus next on the pace of second-half execution, customer delivery schedules and the implementation of the repurchase.
