Published on 11/06/2026 at 11:11 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSRecord growth resets Tower's outlook
- Third-quarter revenue rose 33 percent year over year to a record 526 million US dollars.
- Fourth-quarter revenue guidance of 600 million US dollars points to continued sequential growth.
- Silicon photonics demand and capacity expansion remain central to management's longer-term plan.
Tower Semiconductor reported record third-quarter results on Monday, November 2, 2026, and set a record revenue outlook for the final quarter. The company's investor-relations release said revenue for the three months ended September 30 reached 526 million US dollars, up 33 percent from 396 million US dollars a year earlier.
Profit growth outpaced sales
Gross profit increased 92 percent year over year to 179 million US dollars from 93 million US dollars. Operating profit reached 127 million US dollars, excluding non-recurring items, compared with 51 million US dollars in the prior-year quarter.
Net profit attributable to Tower rose to 120 million US dollars from 54 million US dollars. The company reported diluted GAAP earnings of 1.05 US dollars per share, while adjusted diluted earnings were 1.15 US dollars after excluding stock-based compensation and amortization of acquired intangible assets.
Operating cash flow reached 185 million US dollars, while net investments in property and equipment totaled 191 million US dollars. The figures underline the capital intensity of Tower's expansion as it adds capacity for specialty analog and connectivity applications.
Connectivity demand drives guidance
Tower guided to fourth-quarter revenue of 600 million US dollars, with a range of plus or minus 5 percent. The midpoint represents growth of 36 percent from the fourth quarter of 2025 and 14 percent from the third quarter. The outlook would bring full-year 2026 revenue to about 2 billion US dollars.
Chief Executive Officer Russell Ellwanger said the company was entering its strongest growth phase and expected sequential revenue growth into 2027 despite typical first-quarter seasonality in the semiconductor industry. He linked the outlook to demand for high-speed connectivity technologies, especially silicon photonics and silicon germanium.
Management is targeting a 1.1 billion US dollar annualized silicon photonics revenue run rate in the fourth quarter, five times the 2025 annual figure. Tower also said its Track-1 Japan 300mm expansion was progressing ahead of schedule and that customer contracts were being extended through 2029.
What investors should watch next
The growth case now depends on converting strong connectivity demand into additional production while protecting margins during the capacity buildout. The company must also execute its Japan expansion and meet customer commitments as capital spending remains elevated.
