Umm Al Qura stock gets SAR 183.7 million Masar sale details
Published on 10/08/2026 at 09:34 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWSUmm Al Qura for Development and Construction stock represents a SAR 24.3 billion company as of October 8, 2026, while a new Masar land sale adds a concrete development milestone. Gulf Construction reported the transaction on October 6, 2026.
Masar sale adds liquidity
Umm Al Qura announced an agreement to sell a 2,750-square-meter Zone 2 plot to Makkiyoon Urban Developers for SAR 183.7 million. The boulevard-facing plot has a book value of SAR 82.7 million, and the buyer plans to develop a hospitality tower, according to Gulf Construction.
The same report said a second Zone 2 transaction involved a 3,341-square-meter plot sold for SAR 251.8 million after an updated subdivision plan. The agreement was signed on September 30, 2026, and proceeds from both sales are intended for working capital and ongoing projects.
H1 profit fell 34.14 percent
The liquidity benefit matters against a weaker interim earnings base. In the first half of 2026, net profit fell 34.14 percent to SAR 261.03 million from SAR 396.34 million in the first half of 2025, according to Mubasher. That comparison puts the recent land monetization in a different light: it supports liquidity and project funding, but it does not reverse the reported year-over-year profit decline.
Umm Al Qura's investor-relations page describes the company as owner, developer and operator of MASAR Destination in Makkah, with an estimated total development cost of SAR 100 billion and 2025 revenue of SAR 2.90 billion, according to Umm Al Qura.
