- UOB is scheduled to release third-quarter results before trading begins on November 4.
- Analysts expect loan growth and stable margins to support net interest income, while wealth-management fees may moderate.
- UOB faces particular sensitivity to mark-to-market losses because of its securities portfolio and longer-duration holdings.
United Overseas Bank is due to release its third-quarter 2026 performance highlights before trading begins on Wednesday, November 4. The announcement will cover the period ended September 30, giving investors the first reported view of the bank's latest earnings momentum.
UOB stock traded at 28.20 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 3:11 p.m. CET on Tuesday, November 3. The real-time quote of UOB stock is available separately.
Analysts weigh growth and fees
According to Lianhe Zaobao, analysts expect expanding loan books and stabilising net interest margins to support Singapore banks' earnings. Wealth-management fee income may ease from its first-half peak, although new money inflows should support assets under management and recurring fees.
Jefferies analysts expect UOB's third-quarter net profit to exceed 1.4 billion Singapore dollars, an increase of 221 percent from the year-earlier period. The comparison is affected by an additional 600 million Singapore dollars in provisions recorded by UOB in the same period last year.
Bond exposure remains in focus
Rising long-term bond yields are another issue for investors. Analysts cited by Lianhe Zaobao view UOB as particularly exposed to mark-to-market losses because of its larger securities share, higher fair-value allocation and longer duration. Strong capital positions could provide a buffer, but the results will show how the exposure affected the quarter.
The earnings release will also test whether loan growth, fee income and credit costs offset continuing pressure on margins. UOB is scheduled to report first among Singapore's three major banks, ahead of DBS on November 5 and OCBC on November 6.
