- Third-quarter revenue was broadly flat, while adjusted earnings per share rose on a reported basis.
- Viatris raised the 2026 guidance midpoints for revenue, adjusted EBITDA, adjusted earnings per share and free cash flow.
- The planned Pacira acquisition is expected to close by the end of November and is excluded from the updated guidance.
Viatris reported third-quarter 2026 results on Thursday, November 5, with revenue broadly flat and higher adjusted earnings. The company also lifted the midpoints of its 2026 financial guidance ranges, according to the Viatris earnings release.
Revenue stays stable in third quarter
Total revenue for the quarter ended September 30 was 3.75 billion US dollars, compared with 3.76 billion US dollars a year earlier. Viatris said new product sales, strength in North America and growth in Greater China offset supply constraints in Europe and emerging markets as well as additional competition for certain products.
Adjusted EBITDA reached 1.20 billion US dollars, up 4 percent on a reported basis and 1 percent operationally. Adjusted earnings per share rose 6 percent on a reported basis and 3 percent operationally to 0.71 US dollars. The company nevertheless posted a US GAAP net loss of 325 million US dollars, compared with a loss of 128 million US dollars a year earlier, primarily because of a higher income tax provision.
Guidance midpoints move higher
Viatris now expects 2026 revenue of 14.8 billion US dollars at the midpoint, versus 14.75 billion US dollars previously. The adjusted EBITDA midpoint rose to 4.5 billion US dollars from 4.4 billion US dollars, while the adjusted earnings-per-share midpoint increased to 2.60 US dollars from 2.52 US dollars. Free cash flow excluding transaction-related and restructuring-related costs is guided to a midpoint of 2.3 billion US dollars, up from 2.2 billion US dollars.
The guidance excludes any contribution from the planned acquisition of Pacira BioSciences. Viatris expects the 1.65 billion US dollar transaction to close by the end of November. The company also expects to resume production at its Nashik, India facility during the first quarter of 2027 after remediation work.
Viatris stock traded at 17.87 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 13:04 CET on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Investors are likely to weigh the stronger adjusted outlook against the supply disruption and the execution risks surrounding the Pacira deal.
