Walmart announced on Thursday, November 5, 2026, that it will add 300 Zipline drone delivery sites across the United States under a new multi-year agreement. The retailer said in its corporate announcement that the program has completed more than 2 million deliveries since the partnership began in 2021.
Walmart stock traded at 113.02 euros on Lang & Schwarz at 17:44 CET on Friday, November 6, 2026. That was 1.95 percent below the 115.27-euro Lang & Schwarz quote in the previous report published on Thursday, November 5, at 17:33 CET; this comparison is separate from a Xetra daily move.
What the Zipline expansion changes
Eligible customers can order tens of thousands of items through the Walmart app or Walmart.com, with delivery in as fast as 30 minutes where the service is available. Customers can receive orders in a front yard, backyard or driveway, while eligible addresses can also place orders through the Zipline app.
Walmart said 90 percent of Americans live within 10 miles of one of its stores. That footprint gives the retailer a potential distribution base for rapid fill-in purchases and extends the role of stores in its digital fulfillment network. The company has not provided a timetable for the site additions or a financial target for the agreement.
The expansion adds another option to Walmart's broader same-day delivery offering, which includes 30-minute-or-less delivery in select markets, one-hour Express delivery, on-demand delivery in as little as three hours and scheduled delivery windows. Execution will depend on the pace of site openings, customer adoption, operating costs and regulatory requirements.
