The ATX advanced sharply in midday trading on Wednesday, November 4. The Vienna Stock Exchange showed the Austrian benchmark at 6,614.170 points, up 3.41 percent, at 12:51. The exchange notes that its displayed prices are delayed by 15 minutes, so this was a midday indication rather than an official close.
Financial stocks drive the advance
According to finanzen.ch, Raiffeisen and Erste Group were among the strongest ATX constituents earlier in the session, rising 6.63 percent and 6.44 percent respectively at the source's 12:08 reading. Lenzing, BAWAG and DO & CO also posted gains of more than four percent at that time. By contrast, OMV and Verbund were only marginally higher, making them relative laggards despite remaining in positive territory.
Trading remains underway
The move should be read as an intraday performance, not as a final result for the Vienna market. The exchange's published trading schedule places ATX continuous trading between 12:03 and 17:30, followed by the closing auction. The 6,614.170-point reading therefore remained subject to further movement during the November 4 session.
