- The BEL 20 rose 0.42 percent at the Brussels close on October 29, 2026.
- Healthcare, industrials and utilities were reported as the strongest sector groups.
- UCB led the gainers, while AB InBev was the weakest major decliner.
The BEL 20 finished Thursday's session higher, extending the positive tone in Brussels. The index gained 0.42 percent at the close on October 29, 2026, and reached a new one-month high. The reported move followed a 0.24 percent rise in the previous session.
Investing.com reported that healthcare, industrials and utilities were the leading sector groups at the Brussels close. The same report recorded 52 advancing stocks, compared with 35 decliners, while 14 finished unchanged. That breadth points to a broadly supported session rather than a gain concentrated solely in the index's largest constituents.
UCB leads Thursday's advance
UCB was the strongest BEL 20 constituent in the cited market report, rising 3.51 percent to 280.00 euros at the close. Aperam gained 2.01 percent to 35.46 euros, while Syensqo advanced 1.11 percent to 77.35 euros. The moves are individual-stock contributions and should not be read as a direct explanation of the index's entire return.
AB InBev limits the upside
Anheuser-Busch InBev was the weakest performer among the highlighted constituents, falling 3.23 percent to 70.68 euros. Montea declined 0.92 percent to 64.80 euros and Azelis lost 0.85 percent to 11.66 euros. The combination of strong gainers and notable declines left the overall market positive while retaining some dispersion within the benchmark.
Euronext listed the BEL 20's previous close at 5,815.63 points on October 28 and recorded an October 29 intraday high of 5,860.23 points before the closing report. Investors tracking the index should distinguish those intraday and prior-session reference points from the completed Thursday close.
