- Bitcoin Cash traded at 289.12 USD on the reviewed Investing.com page, with a displayed 24-hour gain of 1.53 percent.
- CME launched Bitcoin Cash futures in October, including standard contracts for 250 BCH and micro contracts for 25 BCH.
- A potential Grayscale spot ETF conversion remains an unapproved catalyst, while the futures launch has already occurred.
Bitcoin Cash price data showed BCH at 289.12 USD on the reviewed Investing.com page. The page displayed a gain of 1.53 percent for its comparison period, a 24-hour volume of 245.85 million USD and a market capitalization of 5.83 billion USD. It also listed Bitcoin Cash at rank 18, with 20.11 million BCH in circulation against a maximum supply of 21 million.
CME derivatives are now active
The most concrete recent development for Bitcoin Cash is the launch of regulated derivatives. CME Group said on October 20 that FalconX and GSR had executed the first block trade in its new Bitcoin Cash and Uniswap futures. CME's contract specifications provide for a standard BCH future covering 250 BCH and a micro contract covering 25 BCH.
The futures add an institutional venue for gaining or hedging BCH exposure without directly holding the coin. They do not, however, guarantee sustained buying pressure. Futures can also support short positions, and the initial launch effect has already passed as a new-market event.
ETF decision remains outstanding
A second potential catalyst is a proposed spot exchange-traded fund. Yahoo Finance reported that Grayscale submitted an updated registration on September 11 to convert its Bitcoin Cash Trust, traded under BCHG, into a spot ETF on NYSE Arca. The filing did not specify an approval timetable. If approved, such a product would be designed to hold BCH directly and could create a new channel for investment demand, but approval should not be treated as certain.
Price context for investors
The reviewed Investing.com page listed a 52-week range of 181.10 to 668.87 USD and showed BCH down 48.0279 percent over one year and 51.8588 percent year to date. Those figures place the current price well below its 52-week high, despite the recent derivatives expansion. The same page showed a seven-day change of 4.9975 percent, but this should not be confused with a verified UTC day-over-day move.
For investors, the near-term focus is therefore split between adoption of the new CME contracts and the unresolved ETF process. The available data support a market with meaningful liquidity and a fixed maximum supply, but also substantial historical volatility. More Bitcoin Cash coverage is available on the topic page.
