Jenner moves into testing
The most current protocol development is the Jenner hard fork on the BNB Smart Chain testnet. In its October 28 announcement, the BNB Chain blog said that BEP-703 introduces Payment Lane. The mechanism reserves 5 percent of each block's gas limit for eligible payments by default, while governance can raise the ratio to a maximum of 10 percent.
The reservation is not a blanket priority for every transfer. BNB transfers to accounts without code can qualify, while transactions sent to listed payment contracts can also qualify. The payment-contract list starts empty and governance must approve contracts, including eligible stablecoins or CAS20 assets. Unused reserved gas remains unavailable to general traffic, and the feature does not guarantee inclusion, fixed fees or free transfers. The mainnet activation date was not stated in the announcement.
Revenue rises as activity diverges
Recent operating data present a mixed picture for the BNB ecosystem. TokenPost reported that BNB Chain generated 54.2 million USD in network revenue in the third quarter, up 54 percent from the prior quarter. Transaction fees contributed 49.1 million USD and maximal extractable value payments 5.1 million USD. BNB Smart Chain processed 1.51 billion transactions, up 7.5 percent quarter over quarter.
At the same time, average daily active addresses fell 14 percent to 2.10 million. Tokenized-stock trading reached 25.6 billion USD in the quarter, while stablecoin supply declined 4.6 percent to 13.22 billion USD. The combination suggests that higher monetization and specialized activity did not translate into broad-based growth in active addresses during the period.
Supply reduction remains a factor
TokenPost also reported that the 37th quarterly burn completed on October 19 removed about 1.646 million BNB. The report said roughly 131.51 million BNB remained in supply after the burn. For investors, the burn is a supply-side event, while the BNB price remains exposed to network usage, market liquidity and wider crypto-market conditions.
