Bovespa rose 1.0 percent to 206,382 points at 11:09 a.m. BRT on October 8, 2026, as Petrobras and other oil-linked shares gained with crude prices. InfoMoney recorded an opening level of 204,300 points, an intraday high of 206,382 points and a low of 203,985 points. The index had closed the previous session at 204,302 points, down 0.7 percent.
Petrobras common shares rose 2.3 percent and preferred shares gained 1.8 percent at about 11:00 a.m. BRT, while Prio advanced 2.7 percent, Exame reported. Reuters linked the early advance to Petrobras and higher oil prices.
Election polling keeps the index above the open
The market also drew support from optimism about a possible change of power in the October 25 presidential runoff, while investors waited for new polling. Valor said the Datafolha survey was due after the market close.
