The BUX finished Monday's session, November 2, 2026, at 145,330.02 points. That was an increase of 72.68 points, or 0.05 percent, from the previous close of 145,257.34 points. The closing level and daily performance were reported by Economx; an Erste Market quote recorded the level at 17:06 Budapest time.
Blue chips offset MOL weakness
The session was mixed among the leading constituents. OTP rose 0.12 percent to 41,850 Hungarian forints, Magyar Telekom gained 2.71 percent to 2,876 forints and Richter advanced 0.39 percent to 13,000 forints. MOL fell 1.00 percent to 4,950 forints.
The closing breakdown was published by TozsdeForum, which also reported total equity-market turnover of 15.6 billion forints. The index therefore held close to its previous-session level despite a clear divergence between the energy share and the other major components.
Oil and risk appetite shaped the session
According to Equilor analyst Akos Czibere, quoted by Economx, international market influences were the main driver of the day's mixed performance. The analyst attributed MOL's decline to a significant fall in world oil prices and said Magyar Telekom may have benefited from investors shifting toward less risky shares. These comments provide context for the constituent moves but do not establish that any single factor determined the BUX's overall change.
The BUX is the Budapest Stock Exchange's official blue-chip index, calculated continuously from the market prices of its constituent shares. For further index coverage, see the BUX topic page.
